World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.
It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's a measure of the damage and quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a vendor.
On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, as the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. item upgrader means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn increased by the player's skill.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Another method of altering the stats of an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in that range unless they are a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.
item upgrades , such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased at the store or constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it fails.
The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.
The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has a success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
